It shouldn't matter which input you use for your Ground Speed channel, but it will work a bit better if you use the same input for your reference lap as the one you are using live on the track.

The Display doesn't use GPS lat/long for the lap gain/loss it simply uses a speed input to calculate lap distance and references that against running lap time.

Can you send me the reference lap file you generated from i2?

I will send it to you tonight when I get home, I think I have your email address form a previous query some time ago. I might also create a new ref lap created with data from yesterday after I got it working to see if there is something invalid in the earlier one but OK later.

I would like to be able to start building a reference library up so I can drop in the appropriate lap for the car and track combination when I return to a previous track, so it would be handy to know if I am having finger trouble to cause the problem I had. I was too busy during the day to try creating another new ref lap and loading it to see if the gain/loss kept working.

For anyone following this thread it seems that there was some sort of issue with my i2 generated reference lap. Most likely cause being finger trouble on my part.

In short, once I created a condition to reset the reference lap the gain/loss setup started working after the next full lap and worked properly for the rest of the day.
