Overrides C127

Postby Anthony on Sun Apr 25, 2021 11:55 pm

Is it possible to use channels transmitted via CAN as overrides or is there a trick to it?

I have been trying to use overrides on a C127 Dash to show cruise speed.
I have the override set to show "when channel updates" thinking that when I change the target cruise speed it will appear for a few seconds and then disappear.

However for some reason the cruise speed override is always active even though it has been set as the lower priority channel.

I have tested with a few other items that are transmitted from the ECU (M1) to the dash with the same result.
Yet when I use internal dash channels it all seems to function as expected.

You can't use the 'Updated' function as a channel being sent on CAN is updated at whatever the rate the message is being transmitted at whether the value changes or not.

The way to do it will be to create a 'User Condition' that uses the 'Changed By' comparison and then put that channel in the override setup, see below:

Note: Changed By 1 will work even if the channel changes by some other value.
