We have a AIM Screen MXG with M150 ecu, we connected the dash to CAN 1 ( 1 Mgb ),, and on race studio we selected M1 Motec ecu on ecu stream option, the dash is reading but wrong reading and the numbers keeps changing, the wiring, can Hi , can Lo, all correct, any specific setup for screen or ecu ?

Hi,

I presume that you have the ECU Transmit on CAN Bus 1, and this is set to 1M as the transmit speed? If this is the case, and you have the CAN Bus wiring done correctly with terminating resistors in place, then you will need to follow up with AIM for this. With CAN Communications between devices manufactured by different companies, it is up to the manufacturer of the receiving device to interpret the CAN Messaging coming from the sending device. We send a standard set of CAN Messaging from all of the GP Packages.

If you have a Partner Package installed, then you will need to follow up with the developer of the Partner Package to find out if they have implemented the standard M1 CAN transmit messaging, or if they have modified it for their Package.

Sounds like you've done the correct steps, Here is the AiM documentation on connected to M1 ECUs:

https://www.aim-sportline.com/download/ ... 02_eng.pdf

Note, you do not need to set the "Base Address" in the M1 Software (as described in the documentation), that would only be for receiving CAN messages into the M1.

Do make sure the in the M1 "ECU Transmit CAN Bus" is set correctly, and that "CAN Bus x Mode" is set to the correct speed. Normally these can be found in the All Calibrate tab in M1 Tune, with none of the tags checked.

It may be worth mentioning what firmware you are using in the M150.

MoTeC GPxxx based firmware has changed what 'order' different channels have been transmitted on throughout the years, but not drastically.

Some partner firmware, such as some RNT firmware, uses a slightly different version again.

The compatibility of the selected receive in the AiM setup will possibly depend on the firmware you are using.

Email or contact Powertune Australia as they are responsible for providing support for their custom Packages. MoTeC does not have any information regarding changes that they may have made to the Firmware and CAN Messaging.
