Connection to M130 without Ethernet Port

Postby glausb23 on Tue Jan 11, 2022 2:08 am

Hello there,
Kind of a novice question, but I am looking to connect to an M130 ECU--however my laptop does not have an Ethernet port. Will any generic Ethernet to USB adapter work just fine, or does MoTeC offer a specific conversion cable for this? I could not find a cable/adapter available for purchase anywhere on the main MoTeC website.

Thanks,
Ben

Hi,

MoTeC Does not offer a USB to Ethernet adapter as there are so many on the market and the pricing for them is so transient that it would not be a viable component to carry. Most laptop manufacturers offer these cables now, so i would recommend the OEM first, and then a known brand (Targus. Belkin or similar) after that. Just ensure that the adapter is IPv6 compatible, as some of the cheaper ones are not.
