Electronic Throttle

Postby rayhall on Sat Feb 08, 2020 6:18 pm

I have a M150 on a Audi V10 engine with one throttle body. It has never worked reliably from day one. I have had Ian
and Motec HQ try to get it working. I have been banded from this forum for been critical or the M150 and Motec support.
The problem will not go away. I am loosing throttle control a lot. I have replaced the throttle body with a new one. New wires from the throttle body to the M150. Then replaced the throttle pedal with a new one. Only thing I have not done is new harness from the pedal to the M150.

I am convinced the problem is not my wiring and have replaced all hardware except the M150. I have been accused of damaging the M150 as have wired it incorrectly. It is time for Motec stop believing they cannot do any thing wrong and fix this problem.

I believe the problem is the firmware code is badly written and not suitable for a race or performance engine. The error checking code logic is flawed and too fussy or paranoid of any minor error.
I have screen shots, datalog and my package.

My car is no my dyno at the moment and I cannot ramp it as I keep loosing throttle. I deal time for Motec to send a engineer to fix this fault.

Ray.

Here is the package and a screen shot of the pedal settings.
The tracing signal is a mirror image of the main signal. If this is the problem how can I fix it.

It seems your pedal tracking voltage calibration are off...

As Bing mentioned, your voltage calibration seems wrong. I'd be doing a fresh offset and scale setup to see if it helps.

All fixed for now. I had to do the calibration three times before it worked. I have no confidence. Has stopped working so many times in the past.

Thank you ,
Ray.

Glad to hear you got it somewhat sorted!

If I ever get around to coming up there to do some subarus Ray, Im happy to drop by and look over stuff with you if desired :) I'm fairly certain one of my subaru customers (young-ish) up there is friends with you / has been in to see you a fair bit. I've also spoken to you a couple of times on the phone over the years.
