Engine Speed Pin Rejected Pulse

Postby rayhall on Sun Jan 26, 2020 5:53 pm

I have a m150 in a Audi v10. At 2000 rpm I get a misfire . It is not load related . The data log shows Rejected Engine Speed Pulses.
Should this be a threshold voltage setting or something like Engine Speed reference Blank Ratio.

If you are getting the message identifying rejected pulse, you need to check your hysteresis setting. (That is if you have the correct threshold set).

Hold the vehicle at 2k rpm and do an input capture. From there you should be able to correctly set your ref/sync settings.

Also, if the trigger is noisy for any reason, it can be normal to see rejected pulse as a diagnostic.
This diagnostic is simply indicating that a pulse has not met your criteria in order to be accepted.

The hysteresis settings were correct. The problem was solved by changing the Engine Speed Reference Narrow Pitch Threshold [%] from 50% to 60%. Now smooth as a baby's bum.
