AWD warning light on dasht

Postby ALKOUT on Thu Aug 22, 2019 9:05 pm

hi all

i have a 2015 r35 GTR fully build and tuned on Motec M1 ECU

after receiving my car i started to get the AWD warning light for less than 2 seconds when i shift gears at more than 3500 RPM and when i asked my tuner he said its ok

currently the issue become worst as i started to get the AWD warning light ON whenever i push the paddle beyond 3500 RPM and never goes OFF until i move my leg from the paddle

i have emailed (Sheptrans) to get their support and they replied that since my car is tuned on Motec i have to contact my tuner because he might set some AWD strategy for the AWD warning light using Motec .

i tried to contact my tuner regarding this issue but he seems to be out of reach ( no reply)

i have some videos of how the AWD warning behave and i also have Motec data log

i really appreciate if i can get some help here

thanks in advance

When the Motec ECU is wired to control the AWD solenoid and the OE AWD controller is removed, the Motec ECU then has control of the AWD lamp on the cluster.

The lamp is use just to indicate a fault with the wiring of the AWD solenoid, eg. short circuit or open circuit, but if the tuning of the solenoid current control is not quite right or if you have an intermittent wiring fault then the lamp can flicker. It turns on when the solenoid current cannot meet the aim current, but it might only be off by a very small amount.

The lamp is lit when the 'Transfer Solenoid Current Control Diagnostic' reports 'Fault'.
If you compare the two channels 'Transfer Solenoid Current' and 'Transfer Solenoid Current Aim' and go for a drive with M1 Tune connected you can look back though the recorded data to see when the diagnostic reports fault and see if the current is spiking, falling or if it's just a small amount of error. If it's a small amount of error then you can adjust the 'Transfer Solenoid DC Resistance' setting so that 'Transfer Solenoid Current Control Integral' is close to 0% when some current is being drawn. You can use the 'Transfer Solenoid Current Test' to calibrate this setting.
