M8 and Lambda sensor type

Wideband LSU sensors require heater control and have 5 wires, LSM narrow band sensors are 4 wire (2 heater and 2 signal).
Appears only the LSM sensors can be used on the M8 as there is no heater control, what's the wide/narrow config option do?
