Toyota GT86 CAN bus Content

Hi Folks

Sorry first post and a couple of question on my install

1) Is there a list anywhere of what CAN-bus data is active in the M1 standard template protocol for the GT86 package?

I am looking to connect a Motec M150 GT86 to an AIM MXP dash, I plan to set the dash to read the standard Motec M1 CANBus template but want to confirm if it will contain all the OEM CAN-bus data or if I need to connect a second CAN input to my dash from the chassis.

Specifically I need the following OEM data for my project:

Brake pressure
Steering Angle
Clutch switch

2) I would like to switch the standard M150 CAN template output to CAN3 output on the M150 is there any reason not to do this?

1) The channels included in our standard M1 template can be found by installing any of our Colour Dash Managers and having a look at the M1 configuration. None of the 86 OEM messages are sent out as part of this messaging. We do transmit all of the OEM messages as required by the vehicle for all the other system to run. If you want these messages then you will have to read them separately.

2) You can use any CAN bus you like. CAN3 isn't included in our adaptor loom but it is pretty easy to add the two wires if you want to use that bus. Just remember that CAN terminating resistors will need to be added to your wiring.

Thank you for the reply Adrian, greatly appreciated

Just in regards to the CAN 3 terminals, Luckily I already have a terminal resistor on my dash but I assume the M150 has an internal resistor on the CAN3 output or do I need to incorporate one at the M150 plug end too?

Cheers

No the M1 doesn't have internal CAN resistors, you have to add them to the loom.
