Toyota 86 cam ofset

Hello can anyone verify me on this or corect me if im wrong.

So to set the inlet offset is to retard the cam to most retard degree like -10 then adjust the ofset until it read -1 ?

By doing this.. then my 0 is more like -9...

And exhaust is the most advance.

What rpm i should do this calibration? Cos 800 might not be able or enough to drive the cam right ?

2000 rpm enough ?
Because i see my inlet cam 1 is really far from the aim
Only inlet 1 cam . Other cam is great and close to aim

You need to understand how your engine works. On many engines, you can disconnect the oil valve solenoid that controls the inlet cam position and it will return to it's most retarded position (likely 0 degrees). Now you can adjust the Cam Position Offset until Cam Position reads 0.

I would expect it to be able be in that position at any RPM, as the oil pressure is required to move it off of the retarded position.

Of course, I don't know the details of your engine, that's why I said "You need to understand". What does your workshop manual indicate about the operation of the cam shaft mechanism?

If you have only one bank misbehaving, you likely have a mechanical issue.

The problem is when i switched back to stock ecu... the vvt angle on 4 banks are aligned beautifully.
