m800 full CAN template

m800 full CAN template

Postby fordpop on Sun Jul 31, 2016 4:46 am

Is there a CAN template that allows monitoring of all channels created by the M800 in the C125?

I use my dash for logging and would like to log parameters such as individual cylinder trims, ref/sync voltages, TC slip data etc but the info is not in any of the template that I have.

Does one exist?

If not, can you point me to a good reference material - webinar or the like that explains how I do it in simple terms? I have watched all the CAN webinars & didnt detect the info.

Any help appreciated.

The templates in Dash Manager cover the generic output channels. If you want to log channels that aren't in that list you need to setup a custom dataset in the ECU. Once you have added all of the channels you want to transmit you can export the template so you can load it into Dash Manager.

A couple of things to note:

You need to use the CAN0 or CAN1 blocks in the ECU to transmit custom datasets.

You have to set the CAN address and it has to match in the ECU and Dash. The ECU is specified in Decimal and the Dash in Hex.

The exported template is setup as CRC32, so if you want to use this in the dash you will have to transmit it as CRC32.

Thanks Adrian - the creation of custom data sets is covered in one of the webinars if I recall correctly????

I'm still new & learning with this CAN stuff so appreciate the feedback:)
