ViPEC V88 RS232 to CDL3

Hi,
I am trying to get a V88 communicating with a CDL3 using RS232.
The V88 is pre 10 000 serial number and is a marine version (resin filled) so it can not be modified for CANBUS.
I have connected the V88 Tx to the CDL3 Serial Rx both with and without the V88 comms earth connected to the CDL3 and had no luck.
Under the CDL3 communications tab for RS232 I have selected the ViPEC RS232 template and I have set the V88 comms baud rate to match the template baud rate of 57600.
Under the Parameters of the ViPEC RS232 settings in CDL3 Dash Manager it has the following defaults,
Device = MoTec CRC32
Format= Fixed Binary
Alignment= Normal
Baud Rate = 57600
Data bits = 8
Stop Bits = 1
Parity = None.
Etc,etc.
I can not get any data to the dash from the ECU,
Out of curiosity I loaded an Autronic Template under the RS232 comms tab in Dash Manager.
I did then receive data from the V88 for both ECT and IAT, however the temperature values were not correct.
I did this to prove the data was being transmitted to the dash is some way or form.
It would appear, that I have not done something correct here or the MoTeC RS232 comms template for ViPEC may need some setting changes for the CDL3.
I have a spare STC, I have contemplated connecting the ViPEC RS232 Tx to the STC and connecting it to CAN 1 on the CDL3 and use the ViPEC CAN template.
I know the CAN template works as I have done quite a few V44 and V88's to SDL and SDL3's without any issues.
Any ideas, please.
Regards
Dave.

I still have to confirm this, but i believe the issue is that the Requested data stream in ViPEC software wasn't set to CRC32, my mistake.
I will test this afternoon and let you know the outcome.
On another note, i have a SLM (not an SLM-C) connected to the CDL3.
Is it possible to test the SLM.
I went into simulate mode after creating some warnings and warning light patterns,
Simulated some over temp and over rev settings but the SLM doesn't do anything.
Please advise on this.
Regards
Dave.

Hi, no joy.
I rechecked my settings in the ViPEC software configuration and I had it set to Data Stream Mode =
Continuous CRC32 and the BAUD RATE set to 57600.
I tried that many things yesterday I didn't remember where I had the settings at.
So I still get no comms with the ECU setup as above and the MOTEC software setup with the VIPEC RS232 template.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Regards
Dave.

It sounds very much like a template issue...
Have you tried the serial template available on the link site?: http://www.linkecu.com/support/downloads/support-files
