Any way to identify pinouts on a password locked M150?

Postby CraigComet on Sun Apr 14, 2024 8:21 pm

I have bought a 2017 Mustang with the M150 plug and play firmware that Motec USA created. The M150 is password protected and I live in a different state from the workshop that did the install (and added the password, which they're not willing to remove).

I have no problem with reverting to the default Motec PnP firmware and having an excellent local shop retune the car, but before wiping everything is there a way to identify which pins are allocated to which additional sensors? The M150 is tucked well up under the dash, so physically chasing each wire would be a challenge.

The "guest" access to M1 Tune doesn't give security access to any tables or any datalogging, but hopefully there's some kind of diagnostic function that lists each input.

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi,

If you go to Help | Firmware Wiring... in M1 Tune, does this show you the wiring pinout?

Hi Stephen. It shows all of the pins, but not what they've been assigned to (the usage column is blank). For example:

D_3 AT1 Analogue Temperature Input 1

D_4 AT2 Analogue Temperature Input 2

D_5 AT3 Analogue Temperature Input 3

D_6 AT4 Analogue Temperature Input 4

A_1 AT5 Analogue Temperature Input 5

A_2 AT6 Analogue Temperature Input 6

C_14 AV1 Analogue Voltage Input 1

C_15 AV2 Analogue Voltage Input 2

C_16 AV3 Analogue Voltage Input 3

C_17 AV4 Analogue Voltage Input 4

Hey Craig,

The Firmware Wiring summary can only show which functions are associated with resources if the resource is visible to the active user (in your case 'Guest')

Unfortunately for you this means you aren't able to see what has been configured.

Hi Craig,

Unfortunately, if the level of security is such that you cannot see the Firmware Wiring help, then unless the dealer that locked the M1 agrees to unlock the M1, we do not have a way of exposing the information. The process to clear a password out of the M1 also erases the Firmware installed in the M1, without a way of retrieving it.
