M130 gauge driving

Postby 71Hako on Fri Aug 25, 2023 8:27 pm

I'm trying to simplify the wiring required for my application. Instead of having a oil pressure sensor for the M130 and a sensor for the oil pressure gauge can I configure the M130 to output a 0-5VDC to drive the gauge? I am assuming HB outputs could have this functionality are there any other outputs?

Hi,

Whilst it is possible to configure the HB outputs to drive a PWM signal, this will be a VBatt+ output, not a regulated 5v+ signal. I think that it would be quite difficult to get an accurate and precise control signal into the gauge using this method. You will have more accuracy splicing the signal into both the M1 and gauge.

Have you considered using something like a gaugeART CAN gauge. It can directly use the CAN data supplied by the M1 and display a variety of channels.

If looking at this type of device look at the Canchecked MFD15 gen 2. It is a lot more flexible.

Thanks for the replies! I already own Stack stepper gauges so I’d like to use them. I will try splicing off the signal, if that presents an interference issue then I’ll look into the canchecked mfd15.
