Incorrect Presentation of M1 Pulse Width on C125

Postby kurtd on Sat Apr 15, 2023 12:39 am

Hello
I have an M130 ECU and C125 display. When I display the variable "Fuel Cyl 1 Prim Pulse Width 1" to the C125, it's format shows up as "0.00xx", where xx is the pulse width in milliseconds. So, for instance, a pulse width of 1.2ms shows up as 0.0012. The variable displays correctly in M1 Tune. The variable is formatted as "decimal" and milleseconds (ms) on the C125.
Is there any way to fix this, so it shows up correctly on the C125?

Thanks,
Kurt

Which M1 CAN template are you using (name is displayed in Connection->Communication Setup->CAN x tab.)?
What M130 firmware are you using?

Sounds like the M130 is sending time in seconds, and the template is interpreting as milliseconds.

Template is named "M1_General". M1 firmware is 01.07.2016.

As an aside, I tried to upgrade the M1 firmware to the July 2019 version, but the merge wiped out all settings. This problem with pulse width display was present before trying that upgrade.

I see that they changed the channel name, and scaling with M1_General_0x640_Version 3. I would suggest you remove the M1_General, and replace it with one of the later versions (3 or 5).

You may need to change the name of the channel you are displaying / logging, as they added the "pri" for primary injector as I think the early firmware versions didn't have support for secondary injection.

Thank you for your input on this topic. Your reply to Kurt’s message also helped me understand the formatting issues better. I was struggling with similar discrepancies between the M1 Tune values and what shows on the C125 display. Your tips about checking scaling and units were particularly useful, and I’ll try adjusting those settings.
