Paddle shift and “stick” with load cell combined?

I want to combine my setup with both a stick with a load cell on and paddles.

The acuator will push the linkage and the loadcell is fitted there.

Will the load cell be ignored if the shift is commanded by a paddle?

Thanks!

Hi,

I have setup vehicles using both a gear lever and Paddles to shift, but with the strain gauge on the lever so it isn't seeing the force applied by the actuator. I have done a quick test on the bench and it appears that it will work if it sees the strain on the shifter, but I cannot guarantee that this will apply in a vehicle installation.

I ended up disabling the load cell because it triggers the actuator when pushing the levler and it just felt bad. So shifting with levler will need clutch (as its only a backup).

Otherwise i didint feel any problems shifitng with paddles and having loadcell activated the same time.

The vehicle that I configured this on we didn't test its operation with the actuator still active, as the lever was in place as a back up in case of failure of the actuator system. For the testing that we did the actuator wasn't powered, so it couldn't interfere with the shift operation.

Just confirming that it works with both active. The actuator helps with the shift when using the stick and the sensor does not interfer when commanding shift with the paddle.

It’s also kind of nice to have the load sensor for logging the force from the actuator.
