DI BOSCH HDP5 INVALID DELIVERY ANGLE

Postby dr350 on Thu Sep 05, 2019 5:37 am

Hello,

We are working with an engine that has a bosch HDP5 fuel direct pump , controlled by ECU M142 (GPR-DI), and we have problems with the calibration of the fuel pump delivery angle.

if we accelerate slowly or steadily we have no error.

When accelerating sharply we have an error INVALID DELIVERY ANGLE !!

We did not find a correct calibration.

How can we approach the correct configuration?

What influence does this error have?

Thanks, regards!!

Hi,

Can you please provide some information regarding the engine that this is on, the Package that is in the M1 at the moment that you are getting this issue and some logging showing it occurring thanks.

The cause of this is that the Delivery Angle table, and the supporting parameters for has not been correctly optimised for the engine that you are using, and when you have a high transient demand for fuel, it is not able to correctly calculate the translation between the delivery and and the required fuel volume.

Hi Dean,

We are working on a Peugeot 208 gti, EP6 engine, Bosch HDP5 pump.

I attach the file with the logger data.

If you need more information let us know.

Thank you very much, regards!

Hi,

The only parameter that I can see that is different to other versions of these engines that I have seen data for is that the Fuel Pressure Direct Bank 1 Pump A Offset in your Package is 270, where all of the others are 30, can you change this value and test again. You can also try 0 for the offset as a test.

Hi,

Today we are going to carry out the tests with these parameters and then we transmit the results obtained.

Thanks, Regards!!

HI

We perform the tests with 30 and 0 degrees.

With 30 it was the same as with 270, direct idling pressure a little oscillating .( INVALID DELIVERY ANGLE)

with 0 degrees the direct pressure at idle is very constant but fails.( INVALID DELIVERY ANGLE)

Something we notice is the sound produced by the direct PUMP, with 270º it produces a strong metallic sound with low frequency. With 30º also but not so high.

With 60º, 180º, 210º, it is a very frequent sound, not metallic, as if it were a valve or an injector.

What would be the correct operation?

Does it influence something we are using 114 Engine Speed Reference Offset instead of 474?

Attached data logger file.

Thanks, Regards
