Engine Speed signal query

The back story . . . new car build, Alfa 3.2 V6 engine has been wired up using the suggested M130 pinout table. Once the ECU was powered up the first time, I find it's been supplied with a startup package, that has a few differences to what I wired the engine to.

The basics (coilpacks, injectors, crank and cam) are all the same. This car has individual throttle bodies, while the supplied package was worked around the OEM fly-by-wire system.

Here's the problem(s) I have. Firstly I could hear a "buzzing" coming from the coilpacks - they are all firing as soon as the power is supplied. I have checked the physical wiring of the loom - every pin goes where it was supposed to, and none are going where they shouldn't. (Yes, I checked EVERY pin against EVERY connector) I then started re-assigning those resources that differed. And here (finally) I get to the point.

It took me a while to realise it, that the supplied package does NOT use the Universal Digital Input 1 that I have wired to the Crank sensor. It does have UDIG2 to the Cam sensor. Is this normal?

And yes, I have sat through the webinars to see if they gave any extra info. I'm going to guess that the reason I'm seeing different screens between what I have and what the webinar has is that the webinars are now 6 years old.

Hi,

What Package are you using?

UDig1 is hard coded in the build process for the Packages to the Engine Speed Reference Pin and can't be used for anything else.

With the coils, these should not be powered off of the master switch, they should only be powered when the engine is to be run otherwise they can be damaged.

Can you post the Package that you are using?

Thanks for the quick response. Attached is the package as supplied.
