Audi V10 Odd Fire Engine Setup

Postby rayhall on Wed May 08, 2019 11:59 am

I have a M150GPR with the Audi 5.3L package. My engine is from the RS6 and is 5.0L It has a odd fire crankshaft. With a 18 deg offset which by my thinking is 90-54-90-54-90-54-90-54-90-54 deg spacing. My problem is how to set this up in the software is it TDC Number 2 cylinder 90 + 54 = 144 then TDC Number 3 cylinder 144 + 90 = 234 and so on.
I have included a drawing of the cylinders and firing order as I am running the engine now with 72 deg spacing. This is not right. The block had a 90 degree V

Stephen,

Thank you I see my mistake. I still have a consern I do not know if it is 90-54-90-54 or 54-90-54-90. Cannot find anyone with the information on this engine.

Hi Ray,

From what I have found online, the pattern starts with a 90 degree cylinder angle, but I have no way of verifying this is correct.

Ray,

Stephen is correct in his numerical cylinder/TDC listing..

We run this on our Huracan 5.2 odd fire engine

I just changed the cylinder TDC's and the engine sound so much better. I will have to retune it now.

Thank you for your help

Ray.
