M150 Audi V10 Camshaft Sensor Wiring

Hello,

I am using the Audi V10 example package. It has assigned the following,

Engine Speed Pin = Universial Digital Input 1
Engine Synchronisation Pin = Universial Digital Input 2
Inlet Camshaft Bank 1 Pin = Universial Digital Input 4
Inlet Camshaft Bank 2 Pin = Universial Digital Input 5
Exhaust Camshaft Bank 1 Pin = Universial Digital Input 6
Exhaust Camshaft Bank 2 Pin = Universial Digital Input 7

The problem is this engine has crankshaft and four VVT camshaft signals. There is no camshaft synchronisation, other then one of the VVT cams.

Do I ignore the Engine Synchronisation Pin or piggyback this to one of the VVT cam signal wires. If so which one.

Ray.

Hi Ray,

The Bosch 140 40 Reference Mode that the AUDI V10 engine uses for its engine timing uses the camshaft position signals for synchronisation, it does not need a separate signal for the synchronisation pin.

•Synchronisation:
â—¦All camshafts used for synchronisation

The version of the AUDI V10 Package that is listed in MoTeCOnline does not have a resource allocated to Engine Synchronisation, can you tell me which version you have thanks?

Stephen,

Sorry I have missled you. I am using the Generic 4 cylinder, MAP based for the M150GPR. I coppied over the settings from the Audi V10 package.

I have disabled (not assigned a pin) the Engine Synchronisation.

Does it matter which camshaft I have assigned to a digital input. I have the following,

Inlet Camshaft Bank 1 = Universial Digital 2
Inlet Camshaft Bank 2 = Universial Digital 3
Exhaust Camshaft Bank 1 = Universial Digital 4
Exhaust Camshaft Bank 2 = Universial Digital 5

Ray.

Hi Ray,

As long as the correct resource is allocated in the M1 to the physical sensor, then the order that they are used does not matter.
