M130 62207 unterminated loom Qs

Hi ,

Been supplied the 62207 unterminated loom for this current install,

And cannot seem to find any data or schematics on it, so have pretty much belled the whole thing anyways.

Interestingly the CAN connectors have approx 36 ohms across the comms pins would this be considered a terminated end?

Cheers

I'll find out why we don't have a wiring diagram for that loom.

As for the CAN wiring, are you measuring 36ohms with the ECU plugged in? The loom doesn't have a CAN resistor in it so with it disconnected you should get open circuit.

Cheers Adrian, schematics be handy.
Will double check but sure that was with ECU unplugged.
Cheers

Double checked and it has 34ohms across can hi-lo, green and white on connector B17-18 with nothing connected..

Ok if it has 36ohms across CAN Hi and Lo with no devices connected then it sounds like you have 3 100ohm resistors on the bus. You should probably remove one.

Found the pre installed resistor in the loom, marked 100ohm but measures 34ohm even clipped away.
Go figure

Its a bit hard to see from the image, can you please confirm that the colour bands on that resistor are brown - black - black - black - brown.

I've never seen a resistor measure that far away from the marked value before, just one thing, you don't happen to have a near flat battery in the multimeter?

Yep she’s Brown-Black-Black-Black-Brown should be 100R 1%.

Checked with another meter also, changed out all good.

Also noted GPA has no 12v backup pin? Is there an ignition on relay trigger input required or she’s just on or off?

The battery backup isn't actually used so you don't have to connect anything to that pin.

You can simply turn the ECU on and off by switching the 12V supply. There is an engine run switch which you can configure to turn ignition/injectors on/off but you don't have to use it if you don't want. This can be wired to an input or done via CAN.
