M1 GPR Boost Control

Can the ecu be in multiple boost limit states at once? If so, what is the order of the structure and how does the calculation?

From the firmware help, it states the following
"Boost limit values are a percentage of the range between Boost Activate and Boost Aim Main."

If I was to have various boost limits in each of the following, does it combine the calculate the total % of all of the active states?

1. Driver Engine Boost Limit via a Rotary Switch
2. Fuel Composition Boost Limit
3. Coolant Temp Boost Limit
4. Inlet Air Temp Boost Limit

I believe that all of the M1 "limits" will use the lowest value.

So if the driver has selected 80% of the available boost, and the Inlet Air Temp Boost Limit is at 50%, then the boost will be limited to 50%, if the air cooled down and the Inlet Air Temp Boost limit changed to 90%, then the 80% driver selection would be used as it was the lowest.

I was hoping that isn't the case.

Anyone from Motec want to clarify?

I looked at the code in one of the GP packages, and it works as I described. However there is a Driver "Boost Limit Disable Switch" that will disable all limits so the value of Boost Aim will be used.

What do you want to do?

With some more thought, I think I can achieve what I want from this.
