UDIG x Hybrid A/B

Hi all

Is there an explanation anywhere of how "UDIG x Hybrid A/B" works?

Seems to be an alternate use of the digital channels to allow them to be used as AV inputs...but I could be wrong and not sure what the difference between "A" and "B" mode is.

Thanks in advance.

They are a mechanism to access signals decoded from new types of sensors with a digital output. For example some electronic throttles encode the throttle position as a digital datastream instead of providing two analogue outputs. The decoding mechanism will provide the throttle position measurements via these hybrid resources.

Hybrid inputs will be supported in new packages and the help will be updated to describe their use.

One additional question -

Will this feature be available on the GPA package at some point and, if so, any idea roughly when? It would really get me out of a possible hole!

And a comment -

Having played with M1tune and my M130 with GPA I seriously believe that this range of ecu's is under represented on your sales website. I really think someone needs to look at the technical details on the site and add in useful footnotes regarding things like alternative use of inputs and outputs, it really could make a difference to some people.

I chose the M130 mostly because of support....if I had more information on it's abilities I wouldn't have spent nearly so much time looking at, and almost buying, other options.

Support for hybrid inputs will be introduced where appropriate: what exactly do you need to do?

We could do more to market M1 and our products in general: you could say we under sell and over deliver :) We are working to make more information available.

ps: your EX2 looks like an interesting vehicle. You may be interested in some of the gear shift features of GPR!

I would like to use the hybrid inputs on the accelerator pedal for DBW, using the 'digital' version of the Penny & Giles TPS280DP. Basically I have ran out of AV inputs and it is a choice between LTCD or an DBW4, and I think the LTCD is more important at the moment.

The car is mid engined and the throttle cable routing is a bit of an issue, DBW would get round this. With the sequential box fixing the equally problematic gear linkage issue (gear selection was a bit random) that will just leave the steering rack being installed at totally the wrong angle for the column to sort out and then the car should be much more pleasant to drive!

And yes, will be looking to upgrade to the GPR package as soon as the engine is in and running. I already have a switched gear knob for the gear lever I am machining at the moment.

Thanks

The July 2015 packages are now available as a public beta version and support "hybrid" digital inputs for many input including throttle pedals, throttle servos, gear position sensors, etc.
