M130 Setup: Using AV inputs for 2-wire temp sensors

Hi,

I am using M130 in my car and have added additional temp sensors for logging power steering fluid temp and multiples intake temps (pre and post IC ). AT3 is currently feeding the pre-IC, but the car needs to referece the Post IC for tuning.

Right now, the power input for each sensor is being fed by Sensor 5V B and then input to the ECU via AV7 and AV8. I was instructed to install a 1k ohm pull-up resistor on each sensor in order to make these temp sensors work on the AV inputs.

If this is correct base do my wiring, where is the best place to place these? Near the ECU or near the connector of the sensor?

What must be changed to registe in the ECU properly?

DP

The correct way to wire this is to have one end of the 1K resistor attached to the Sensor 5V B, and one end spliced into the AV Input signal that connects the ECU and the sensor. The other sensor connection should be connected to 0V ground on the ECU.

If the resistor is near the ECU, you only need to have two wires going to the sensor (signal & ground).

If you already have 5V, signal and ground in the harness, then it's easiest to put the resistor in the connector for the sensor.
