Thanks David. Is there a specific way to test it? Or just connect 12v with a push button and see if it "clicks"?

I do see the engine rpm drop and then recover and bank 1 lambda richen and then recover when I disconnect and reconnect it. Seems like it's working?

You can test individual injectors using M1 Tune, without needing to run the engine. Look at the Initial Setup->Injectors worksheet. You should find a Test Output pane, where you set a test RPM (typically 1000 or 2000 RPM). Make sure the fuel pump is disconnected, set the first cylinder to test, and change Engine Output Test to Fuel Primary, when you press the "Q" key, it will change to the next cylinder, and switch to "Disabled" when it reaches the last cylinder.

Typically I do this test to confirm the configuration matches the wiring -- so Cylinder 1 is really Cylinder 1, not some other Cylinder.

You may want to switch to the worksheet Diagnostics->Fuel Outputs while the test is running to look for diagnostic errors.

David -- I can't thank you enough for that tip. Using that technique at 5000 rpm, I was able to recreate the Open Faults by tugging gently on the lead. I tested all the other cylinders, but it's only #1 that has the problem. I'm cutting into the sub-harness now, but I'm pretty confident this is a wire fatigue problem due to my beautifully arched lead that should have been secured a bit better.

New contacts for the #1 injector plug too I'd recommend assuming there was no fretting dust in the others.

Yes, new contacts -- I had a spare connector and contacts on hand. I also shortened and secured the lead to prevent this from re-occurring.
