launch control by time

Postby max7695 on Tue Apr 17, 2018 1:12 am

hey,

i have a m150 ecu and i want to setup launch control. but now i have to setup rpm vs speed in the table.
is it possible to change it to rpm vs time? because we aren't allowed to use wheel sensors.

Hello Max,
What is the car and what class are you racing in? What other MoTeC devices do you have?

we have a volvo 480 with a 3.0L 16v volvo engine, converted to 4 wheel drive that we race in the dutch autocross championship and a 4x4 buggy with the same engine and driveline for the european autocross championship

we only have the ecu from motec, we normaly use dta and kms motormanagement and there we can set the launch control by time

Hello,
We have a drag package that allows a predicted speed based on time from launch which would be suitable for this application. The predicted speed can then be used for launch which would be the same. This predicted speed can be used in multiple functions for cars that may have wheel speeds not truly related to the vehicle speed. This feature will be added to the normal GP packages later this year.

If you are not using Wheel Speed Sensors the Vehicle Speed that is used for Launch control can come from GPS.

Hello,
The Drag package will be available very soon. Is the car currently running on the M150?

I would not use GPS speed for launch as it can have quite a delay when the acceleration from 0km/hr is very high.

Mark in the new drag package would it possible in the Race time boost limit give us an axis that could be linked to a rotary switch? Would make tuning for track conditions on the fly very easy.

You could do this really easily with Build. If it's in the budget you won't regret a development package.
