M1 + Older SDL ... Communication?

Hi,

I have a M130 powering my car successfully from a license builder. He is very busy so I thought I would reach out to see if MoTeC engineers could lead me in the right direction as I would like to wrap this up before performing some custom display mount work.

I have an older SDL backlight model that I have set up in the car. The unit powers up and communicates with the CPU via US. CAN bus is also connected as my M1 is showing no CAN faults as it was originally.

Now, I only have (2) sensors hooked up (Digital inputs 27/28 for independent wheel speed on the driver's side; M1 is handling the passenger side) and wanted some insight how to get key parameters (tach, vehicle speed, gear, engine temp, oil pressure, lambda and ethanol%)displaying on the SDL from the M130.

Is there any simple procedure to do so?

As far as I'm aware there isn't a simple procedure yet.

i recently had to set up an ADL1 and I got a template from Motec HQ (Australia) which gave me the info I needed to individually set up all the can data for each input.

You need to have the M130 sending this info in CAN messages. The trick is that the Sport Dash Manager doesn't allow you to create CAN receive templates, however you can install the ADL2 Dash Manager, create the templates there then copy them to the template directory of the Sport Dash Manager software.

If you understand CANbus messaging, that should be enough to get you going. Good Luck!
