Using AEM Wide Band X-Series Lambda Sensor with m84

Postby kurtd on Sun Mar 27, 2022 11:22 pm

Hi folks
I am switching from an OMEX ECU to a Motec m84. The old setup used AEM X-Series Wideband Lambda sensors (P/N 30-031N). The sensors put out 0-5v with a calibration table that they provide. I'm trying to figure out the correct setup for the m84. I set the Lambda Sensor Type to 0 for the two sensors and entered the voltage-based calibration table in the Input Setup screen. Do I wire the analog voltage leads for the two sensors to LA1S (B25) and LA2S (B12) and the two ground leads to Sensor 0V (B16)?

Thanks for the help!

Just to confirm, you’re trying to connect two AEM issued Bosch LSU4.9 sensors to the M84?

You can use the analog output available from the AEM meter and wire that to the M84 I which will work based on the 0 to 5 volt calibration you noted.

You should be able to wire the sensor itself directly to the M84, but there’s a calibration procedure you have to follow which will allow the M84 to use it.

If you can outline what you’re trying to do I can see if there’s a more direct way to assist you with an outline of instructions you can follow.
