M84 SR20DET

I also bought a M84 for my test car, to mess around with it a bit, get more used to it. My first question, and the only one i hope, is the ignition system. Dose the M84 have built in high power transistors? like the m800? Or do i need a ignition amplifier?

Solved it with the vtc solenoid, on-off using aux output load vs rpm

Also, i think i'm going to need a bit of help when i'm going to wire the oil pressure sensor, to make some sort of rev limiter if i have low oil pressure, a safety measure. But i'll ask when i get there.

PS: will the trigger settings for the SR20 from the drawing work fine ?

Hi Vlad,

The M800 doesn't have internal ignition amplifiers, if you run coils that need an external amp without one, you will damage the M800.

If you have the standard trigger system still on the engine, then the settings shown will work.

Do the Evo8 coils have built in ignitors? Because when i made a mil-spec wiring loom last year for one, i've connected the spk outptuts directly to the coils, and it still works fine. (oem evo coils)

And another thing, dose the m84 support external analog o2 input ?, let's say from an innvoate mtx, i would like this, because i can keep the gauge, keep an eye on things.

Yes you can use a 3rd party wideband controller. Connect its analog output to the La1 input, change the La1 input calibration from "internal" to "custom". Since the innovate has a linear output, in the custom table you will only need to set up two cells - 0V & 5V.
Personally I would trust the Motec internal Lambda by far over any innovate device. You might be better to use 2 bungs so that you can use the motec wideband for tuning and control and just have the innovate for driver information.

Just want to triple check this, the car is running like a swiss clock :D i have wired:

INJ1-Cyl1
INJ2-Cyl3
INJ3-Cyl4
INJ4-Cyl2

IGN1-Cyl 1-4
IGN2-Cyl 2-3

In "nr of cyl-4" mode, is the ecu running in full sequential mode ?

Number of cylinders should be "4" not "-4" to run sequential. "-4" is for 2 stroke.

And one other thing, dose the M84 know any other injection modes? beside semi-sequential and full sequential? Just for my personal knowledge.
