Data output frequency and CAN request command respose

Postby monqy on Tue Dec 29, 2015 6:17 am

Does anyone know the output frequency for the data that the M84 sends out on RS232 and CAN? I'm planning my data logging setup, and I'm trying to figure out which channels I can get from the ECU and which ones I'll have to sample directly due to frequency requirements. I've found which data set the M84 sends in the available documentation, but I haven't come across how frequently it sends that data.

Also, does the M84 respond to CAN request frames? i.e. can the device receiving CAN data also ask for the data at an arbitrary frequency?

The CAN transmit frequency on the M84 is set to 50Hz and can't be changed. The ECU is unable to respond to request frames, it simply sends all of the data all the time.

Thank you, Adrian. Is the frequency the same on RS232 output?

Sorry for the delay, we didn't have any specific information on it so I had to test it.

The baud rate is 19200 which gives approximately 14Hz channel update rate.
