anti-lag setup (drag start)

Postby Noslin on Mon Dec 22, 2014 7:58 am

Hello,

i have watched all the videos and read everything i could on the AL setup for drag racing. still a little lost and also going into new territory with the adjustability in the motec. I had a series 1 AEM unit, on that unit AL was easy. just tell it how many deg to pull and how much fuel to add. with the motec there are a lot of variables that have to be established first so it will operate and then you have the tables to create for fuel/ignition/cut. this is where im having trouble at the moment.

what would you use for table axis for each of the three, cut, ignition, fuel? my thought would be rpm vs TPS?

concerning "cut table" if your retarding the timing what additional benefit does the cut table provide. will it allow the motor to build boost faster with unburnt fuel? is it similar to adding fuel?

so, i would like to get 12-15lbs of boost at 6500 and be able to play with it to get 20 or so at same rpm. i would like this within one second or less if possible.

here is the setting so far on the m84 i have.

traction control settings
slip calc mode = 2
launch retard throttle position = 40.0
launch retard activation throttle position = 60.0
launch rpm cntrl range = 200
launch rpm limit type = 2
launch rpm randomizer = 75
control method = 1
all other items not listed are zero

digi 4 = Dual RPM
parameters =
logic polarity = 0
low rpm limit = 6500
rpm rise rate = 30000
ign. ret = 0.0

overun boost setup
mode = 2
throttle hystersis = 0.0
idle throttle Lo = 5
idle throttle hi = 10
idle rpm = 2000
active throttle = 80
activate throttle delay = 1000
retard in pct/deg = 1
cut method = 0

im guessing you would ramp fuel in say from 5000 rpm to 8500 (guess) and say above 80pct tps value. same with retard, take timing out at similar rpm/tps pct. what would you use for "cut" on x/y axis and how would you establish the values for each.
