Hi

This is my first Post, hence, I would like to introduce myself. I am Syed from London UK. I own Mazda Triple Rotor RX7 FD3S. I always wanted to have a reliable rotary but, seemingly, I have never had good luck with them.

However, This time I am completely adopting a safe mode and modifying my 3 Rotor reliably!!

I have had an experience of running Power FC on my 2 Rotor, and Microtec LTx 12s on my current 3 rotor. I am not happy with both of them. :(

I bought Motec M84 for my 3 rotor engine and before I go on installing it in my Car, I would like to hear from all the readers about the experience they had with Motec M84 and also what are the most important things, that I should be aware of. I am also considering changing my ignition system. So what are the best combinations available for MOTEC 84 ECU.

Also, does anyone here supply a ready made wiring harness of it to suit my car application??

Basically I want to hear from everyone and see what conclusion I get from here..

Syed

Syed,
Congrats on buying a motec and also for driving a 20B :)
I have a naturally aspirated 20B running in my FD with an M800. I have pretty much gone the whole hog with 3 lambda sensors, 3 egt sensors, idle control, lambda control etc etc but its worth it in my opinion.
You will need to make a harness yourself or get a shop to do it for you. I found it easier to strip the whole front loom and start from scratch that way I could make it neat rather than splicing everything.
I have tuned and built the car for reliability, I was sick of so called 'experts' destroying my engines so decided to learn everything myself with the help of professionals and people on this forum. Having said that I wouldnt recommend trying to do it yourself at first, get a good tuner to teach you how it works and whats important that way you can pick up on what they are doing and get some experience.
The rotary engine is a simple thing really but I found it likes certain things that a piston engine wont but they are similar in principle really, just heaps more fuel and you ignition makes a big difference how the car feels.
I havent used a M84 but shouldn't be too much different, the problem you may have is you soon run out of input/outputs hence the need to go M600 or M800.
I am running 3 Motec CDI boxes for ignition but this is overkill for my application, are you running turbo or NA ?
