Adding Oil Temp & Oil Pres Sensors to M84.

Postby JimB-FL on Thu Nov 28, 2024 12:43 pm

I am looking to add two sensors to my M84. A two wire RaceGrade (M 25-2197 D) oil temp sensor and a three wire Kavlico 75 (M P75A-E4C) pressure Transducer. I would really appreciate any guidance I could get on the right way to wire them. Thanks!

Hi Jim,

Both sensors will share one of the 0V (B15 or B16) pins and the Pressure sensor will also need to be wired one of the 5V Sensor supplies (A2 and A9). If you use B15 for the 0V, use A9 for the 5V, B16 is used with A2.

Your Oil Temp can go into B5 (AT3) User Input 2 as there is not a pre allocated Oil Temperature input. What is the Kavlico 75 being used to measure? 75psi is a bit on the low side for Oil Pressure.

Thank you Stephen! This is exactly what I needed.

The application is the Runge R2 powered by a 3.6 Porsche flat 6. I realize I might need to upgrade to a 100 psi sensor.

Thanks again for the advice.

One more newbie question.

For oil pressure I now plan to use B15 for 0v and A9 for 5v. Where does the third wire (sensor) go? A25?

Thanks

Hi Jim,

A25 (AV5) is the pre allocated input for Oil Pressure, so it is wired into that pin.
