Boost control by gear or speed

Postby stainless1 on Sun Oct 13, 2024 4:34 am

OK here's my problem, I have boost control working very well, except in first and second gear the boost kicks in and the tires spin. I would like to just be on the 7# spring and start boost control in 3rd gear or by speed. I looked for a webinar, didn't find one to cover that. Some of the older posts indicated that would be added to M84. I looked at the manager and the F1 areas in boost control and didn't see a selection for boost by gear or speed. I just need a couple of pointers to tell me how to get that started. This is a landspeed vehicle so traction in low gears can be tough on the salt. Thanks for any help

In the M84 Boost Comp 1 has Gear as the Y axis and Boost Comp 2 has Ground Speed as the X axis.

By default these axes are disabled but you can easily enable them by navigating to the table and pressing the A key.

OK, is there a webinar or explanation of how to do that. I played with 2, adding speeds, but couldn't figure out how to get where I need to be with another axis. I would like to be at no boost control to about 100-125 MPH, then bring it up to full boostby about 175.

The Comp tables are % modifiers on the aim boost table, as an example -100% would set the boost aim to 0.

The link below should take you to the section of the M800 boost control webinar that covers this:

OK I set up a ground speed axis and then filled in values of -100 to 125 MPH and then -80 at 140, -50 at 150 and so on to 0 at 180. I guess we will see what happens next year when I have my next chance to test it.
