Cross reference connections

Postby Screwriverracing on Sun May 24, 2020 6:27 am

Hi,
Could anybody help with cross referencing the connections from my existing ECU to the M84, I have listed some but not very confident.

Here is the M84 wiring diagram (attached), so according to that, all of your input sensors are listed (and you have them correct).

As for outputs. I would use Auix1 (A18) for the Wastegate Output, and Aux2 (A1) for the Tacho output.

Hopefully you can figure the Ignition and injector outputs (note that they are in firing order), and you're prepared with external ignitors or smart coils with built-in ignitors. I recently did a single cylinder bike, and was surprised to find the factory ECU had a CDI output and there was no way to use the coil without a CDI (inverted, high voltage) output. Had to find a single channel CDI box..

Your sensor 0V needs to use 0V Eng (B16).

I don't think you will need any of the RS-232 as that was likely just for communicating with the ECU tuning software, for the M84 will use the CAN bus (only B23 and B24 are required).

I do always have to ask -- why isn't your dealer helping you with this. That's what they are supposed to do.

Thanks David,
No help yet from a dealer as I am getting it ready before I purchase the M84.
As for the Ignition its running wasted spark at the moment through a amplifier, but I can't find any details on how it's wired to the 3 ohm dyna coils.

With the injectors, it has eight (2 per throttle body), so I will test the wiring with a meter and place them in the correct order.

Where are you located? Perhaps you will buy your M84 from me if you're in the United States.

That ignitor looks like a knock off of the Bosch 2 or 3 channel ignitor. Drawings attached.

Thanks David,
That's a great help. I think it is the second one, as running two coils wasted spark,so will test it out.
I'm in the UK.

Next up are the injectors, can't remember what they are.
Code on one side is D3183BA and on the other side 1947, can't find anything on the net, does anyone know?
