Deficiency of the M84

Postby martymonte on Tue Jul 09, 2013 8:34 am

Hi
I am a small Italian Tuner and from a few years I have begun to use some products MoTeC, precisely ecu m4 and m48, despite these products they are dated, I have been enthusiastic of the precision and complete management of these systems.
On the last application I have decided to use the M84, that to say of MoTeC, replaces the old product M4-M48 by now out production.
Unfortunately I was surprised from the M84, that doesn't have all the features of the M4-M48
for example:
• Even the ecu is a phased system there is not the Single Cylinder Trim Table for injection and ignition as it was in the old system M4, (individual trim table - rpm vs load)
• it is not possible to protect the configuration whit a password, as it allowed the old system M4 e/o M48
The M84 has been on the market for sometime, I hope that the developers have a look soon as possible to these deficiency of the M84, so that to equalize the old systems M4 e/o M48 that it replaces.
In the meantime my suggestion to whom the budget allows, is to use the M400-M800.
To whom instead the budget doesn't allows and needs to protect the config I suggest to choose unfortunately other systems.
A particular thanks to the Ing. Andrea Torniero from Motorsport Engineering for the support received.
best regards
