M84 Pedal/Torque Maps

Postby pukka on Fri Mar 08, 2013 2:51 am

Hi There
I'm about to use another Ecu to control boost & driveablity maps which cannot be done with the M84 as it only allows one boost input, the probelm I have is that if I need to turn the boost/power down it will only go to the mechanical spring pressure which is to high for wet/damp conditions,I have a Rpm output, what I need the Tps signal from the M84. Can I output this to one of my spare AV channels, leaving the m84 to deal with only Spark & fuel also added a seperate T-map so it will effect become a stand alone system.
Many thanks if anybody can advise if this has been or can be done
Phil Collard.

Hi Phil,
the ECU doesn't have an AV output, so it is impossible to output TP as analogue voltage. All the outputs are PWM signal (or on/off switch).
TP can be transmitted in a CAN message, so if the other ECU can receive communicate over CAN bus it may be possible to send the throttle position to it.
Another option is to use "duty cycle to volts" converter.

Regards!
