After spending so long getting to this stage and being without the car i need to get back into a swift.
As it happned a good friend was thinking of selling his swift whice i had turbo charged for him. We had originaly supercharged it with a rotrex but couldnt get it past 200bhp, so we put a vf36 twinscroll on it and at 10psi it made 240 bhp and went well.
It even had a little review in a magazine

I decided to buy the car ( i didnt want to see it go) and had fun for a while.
The car had a few issues mainly with the ecu in the car at the time.
After getting no support from the ecu manufactures i decided to change to motec and went to see Steve Hurst from GWR Motor sport. I posted up before when steve sorted the car for me, link attached below, He realy knows his stuff.

Since then we have changed many things and the car has become a good test mule for the 4x4.
We added launch control, traction control (which is amazing), antilag and boost in gear which made the car so much more easy to drive. i made 2 9 position switches for boost and traction control.
We also had the car mapped to 1 bar, it made 288 hp at the flywheel, good fun in a car which weighs 800kg.

After about 2 month of driving at 1 bar one of the standard rods let go,I wanted to test how much they could take. it nearly cut the block in half, but it was still running, i had to turn it off. I found the top half of the rod and the piston pin 50 yards back down the road!! and part of the block was stuck in one of the rear tyres!

I built a new engine with pauter rods and a few of my special tweaks, twin waste gates, laminova oil cooler and some other mods

I also made a nice big radiator and intercooler and a bigger plenium.

Then it was off to the rollers to see Mr Dave Rowe from EPS motor sport another Motec guru.
We maxed it out and managed 350 hp at 1.6 bar it wouldnt make any more with more boost.
It realy goes well now, i have had to remove boost in every gear except 4th and 5th to stop wheel spin.
I have set the boost so it wheel spins a little in each gear and the traction control takes care of the rest. It does work well.

After driving the car for a while i went for a trackday at my local circut Castle Combe.
What a laugh it was, Steve from GWR came along for the day and insisted he put a cdl dash in with the gps for more logging. He quickly installed it and set it up in minutes, top bloke.
I had such a laugh even managed to keep up with some super charged ariel atoms and a tuned r35. Every one was coming over and couldn't believe it was a 1.3
Between Steve's help and tweaks from the logging, motec dash and traction control and the lsd the car handled awesome.
The logging was brilliant Steve kept an eye on everything and couldn't believe how low the temps were for such a hot day (25 degrees) max engine temp was 85 and inlet was 32 after 10 laps.

The gear mechanism was a bit worn out so i decided to make one in ally with double bearings on everything that moves, it turned out a bit more elaborate than i thought.
