Thought that someone might be interested in a little project that we recently completed.
A while back we received a VZ V6 190kw engine in a crate as a donation from GMH.
Initially we thought about going down the original path and get it running to original using parts sourced from wrecks etc., but then we decided, why not make something a bit different for our students to learn on. So now we have a teaching aid that allows our students to learn some of the finer details of: throttle-by-wire, variable cam control, CAN, electric water pump etc.,
We currently have no plans to connect it up to our engine dyno, but are quite happy to have our students "play" with settings and see the results with minimal danger.
The project specs are:
Alloytec V6, 190kw
M800
Throttle-by-wire
Davies Craig EWP80 with digital controller
LTCD with dual Bosch LSU's
CAN
The above was completed when time allowed by the staff of Wyong TAFE NSW, Australia and with the help and guidance of Mark mcCoy of MOTEC
