MDD and SLM

Postby MANDALAY on Sun Apr 17, 2011 3:15 pm

This is a MR2 and i wanted something that would look stock.
So to mount my MDD i bought an OEM toyota GPS head unit. Not interested in the GBS so i made a housing to mount the MDD into it.
The head unit because of the distance it sticks out because of the tilt function i made new brackets to recess it.

So ive made the ends and attached to the holding brackets. They have oversized holes so as i can move them so as to sit flush with the plastic bezel

So now its of to be anodized flat black.
Then ill start the wiring then make a new aluminium box to house the MoTec MDD in the spot where the TOM TOM is.

So out goes the GPS unit and in goes my MoTec MMD.
So ill sand blast it for the plastic texture look then anodize it.

Also i made a hosing for my SLM

I got my MoTec SLM ( leds ) bracket finally finished.
I decided to mount it to the bottom plastic surround of the cluster.
Its in an aluminum housing.
The housing has a counter sunk piece of perspex so as to look flush.
Now with all the other aluminum pieces i can get then sand blasted to the same texture finish of the ABS plastic then anodize them.

Great work with the CNC machining. I bet it took a few hours.

Well i repositioned the SLM on the steering wheel.
Changed the spiral clock with another MR2 one with extra pins to connect the SLM
