Very nice engines there!
Usually i re-build and tune many BMW engines.. i enjoy so much the 4 cylinders also (many don´t know the potential of BMW 4 cylinders engine even in naturally aspirated form)... even the old M10 surprise us when catch it up to current technology.
I made a full rebuilt in a S14 engine, stroked and rebored to ~2.5 liter (using Evo crankshaft).. it´s surprised me how strong is and the health to eat high rev.. 8.000rpm it´s only begin to play.. any rpm you release in rev limiter, it will eat and keeping the power curve usefull!
M42/M44 also are very health engines and small improvement in inlet manifold and camshafts, gives a big increase in the power output..
Your setup using 4AG throttle bodies appears to fit perfect!
