Active differential control?

Postby Chris Wilson on Tue Mar 17, 2009 7:53 am

I am more into chassis engineering than engine development, and once my RWD RB26 engined, Motec M800 managed Skyline project is up and running I want to consider the possibility of using the V spec active rear differential under ECU control. Have any people here used a Motec to control an active rear diff? The V spec Skylines use an ecu to control how much preload is put into the clutch plates, by means of hydraulics, of the rear diff, enabling good low speed corner turn in, with active lock up on corner exit if slip is detected. I'd like to utilize this to play with handling characteristics on the track. Is it asking too much of an M800? Is there anything commercially available that would be suitable?

I think the M800 would be capable if you used it in conjunction with Motec DHB`s
Or even more so if you have an ADL2
