Dynamic intake pressure measurement

Didn't know where exactly to put this - it is more of a data logging question than an ECU one.

What I want to do is to measure the dynamic pressure in the intake port.
At 6000RPM we have 100 rotations/minute.
So I would like to have pressure at every 5-10 degrees of crank angle for one cylinder, which equates to a pressure reading rate >= 7200Hz.

Are there pressure sensors that can do this that are normally used?

I almost think I could use a microphone - but that last thing it would hear is the fuel covering it before it got sucked into the intake valve...

Surely someone is doing, or has done, this?

Piezoelectric pressure sensors are most commonly used. Same companies that make cylinder pressure sensors usually make low pressure versions for intake/exhaust work. Kistler (www.kistler.com) and PCB are two of the common ones. You could just have a look at RS components or similar but need to check the frequency response. Maybe one of the automotive MAP sensors will have sufficient frequency response?

Whatever you use it needs to have a very low impedance connection to the manifold ie no hose or tube because these will have a resonant frequency somewhere in the range you want to test in.
