Q on Lambda

Postby CarloL on Sat Jun 09, 2018 3:32 am

Maybe not the forum to ask, I have an M130 LTC and Bosch LSU

I searched here and online, could not find any answer

From factory the car has a narrow band sensor , adding the wideband ; will this make the OE narrow band obsolete or would the ECU still make use of the OE narrow band?

I presume unplugging the OE unit will have zero affect to the ECU

As per motec website , is it correct I need to calibrate my wideband sensor every X km ; will the ECU indicate if the sensor needs replacing or are you best going by mileage

Hi Carlo,

If you have a Wide Band Lambda Sensor, you do not need the narrow band sensor. The M130 doesn't have support for narrow band operation anyway.

I have done testing on the lambda in my car, and whilst there is a small variation in the final calibration numbers generated between the free air calibration of new sensor to one that has done a fair amount of work, it is a very minor variance (less than 0.01 lambda) and the injector PW's didn't change before and after doing the calibration.
