M880 Quick Lambda question

Postby 95wagon on Sat Jun 25, 2016 4:49 am

When using the Quick Lambda for adjusting fueling, do I need to disable the Lambdas control of fuel trim?

Say I am on , say 4000 rpm-40% throttle and the fueling is off enough that it is being trimmed back to target lambda.
If I go to use “Q” once I get right on the 4000-40% sight, does the trimming based on readings skew the numbers ?
Or does it make the proper change , while accounting for the trimming it may be doing.

Apologies if my terminology is incorrect, I am new to Motec and nothing yet is second nature.

To answer your question -- No you do not need to disable lambda control.

Lambda control is temporarily disabled if you are connected to the ECU and the Main Fuel screen is shown. So pressing the space bar will move the cursor to the current operating site, and the Q key will make the necessary change to achieve the target lambda (La Aim Value) from the Lambda Table + Lambda Comp.

You probably want to read the help screen (press F1) on the Lambda Table screen to learn more about when lambda control can be enabled/disabled.
