Hm...

I have two values in setup. Low Threshold is 1300 kPa and High Threshold is 1900 kPa. However, the pressure point where pump starts is ~650 kPa and stops at ~950 kPa. Both values are displayed in "online/monitor chanels" menu. I don't know what the real pressure is. Is it a bug or a feature?

I think you have a problem with the pump, when the ECU turn on the pump "try " to get the hight threshold, but never reach it, so turn off the pump about 20 seconds. pass that time again try to reach the press, and so and so.
The solution is to open the pump, in the casing you will see 2 holes, one with a little "bullet", you must tap the lid, remove tha ball and the spring, in the bottom will see a little filter, remove it and then assemble the spring, bullet, tap and pump. The reason that never reaches the pressure is that filter gets dirt, and the oil can´t pass that filter. Try it I have experienced that problem for the 2004 evo 7!! (when doesn´t exist MoTeC Diff Controller or GEMS) fron now. Good Luck!!!

I know the problem you are talking about but this time it is not the case . Pump is running just for 2-3 seconds. And mystery is why it turns on/off on at apx. half of desired value. In "open mode" the pressure will stay between (half of) desired value for a very long time. I have noticed this on one car during last race. At the moment I have both cars in parts. I will put them together during this week. And I am very curious what will I see on the other car. Hmmmm... Both cars are Evo9 GrN MoTeC ECU + MoTeC MDC.

Hi Mazi,

Can i ask what version of software/firmware you are using? You can find this by going to Help|About in the MDC Manager software. If you are connected to the MDC it will also show you the current firmware in the device as well.

If you don't have the latest version (V1.22) you should upgrade the MDC.

Another thing, are you looking at the value in Monitor Channels on MDC Manager or Dash Manager??
Do you think the pressure is actually low or reading low? I'm not sure if you can feel a difference or maybe the pump sound different??

I have tested the functionality here and it is working correctly with current software.

First car is up and running again.

I'm looking at the value in monitor channels MDC Manager.
MDC Manager is v 1.2.0.2
Firmware on disk is 1.22
Firmware in device was 1.20 and now is 1.22 (I don't know why, I don't know why.....)

And with new firmware MDC is working better. I can read now pressure up to 1900 kPa.
I'm wondering now if I have to make new tables again? It is an expensive solution...
Or maybe it is not necessarily to do that, because MDC is smart enough to compensate duty to low pressure. Or maybe it was just wrong reading but pressure was fine.
I'm not very happy at the moment.

There was a change in pump strategy from 1.20 to 1.22. This is detailed in the 'Read Me'. The pressure reads the same between versions so your pump pressure was actually low.
In 1.20 the pump on time was 5secs unless the high limit was reached. If the pump did not reach the high limit it would shut off for 20secs before turning on for another 5 secs. If the pump did reach the high limit and shut off it would turn back on as soon as the pressure dropped below the low limit and didn't have to wait for 20secs.
Is it possible it was only reaching ~950kpa in 5secs and taking 20secs to fall back to 650kpa so cycling on time rather than pressure??

The new strategy is run for 20secs and if the low limit is not reached then shut off for 20secs. If it does reach the low limit the pump runs until it reaches the high limit. This is a lot better for operation but worse for pump life if it is not functioning correctly.

As for having to remap tables, the table percentage represents a value of the total pressure required for 100% lock. So for your lower % settings the tables should still be correct but i'm not sure how much pressure is required for 100% so don't know if your higher values have been affected. Also it is likley there is a problem with your system if the pump needs to run for an extended time to build pressure. Is it possible the pump was functioning correctly when the tables were set?

It was a broken pressure sensor problem. Signal was on half of true value almost all of the time with intermittent peaks on normal level.
