SDC3 Map Position Indication

Postby Robbied on Mon May 09, 2016 10:41 pm

Hi,

I'm fitting an SDC3 to a 2009 STi rally car for a customer, (combined with an M800 PnP).

The car doesn't have the original clocks. It also doesn't have the OEM diff control switches.

Looking at the SDC3 pinout, its easy enough to toggle up and down through the maps by pulling the relevant input pins to ground, using momentary switches for instance.

But does anyone have any ideas about how to indicate what diff map is selected? The unit doesn't look to have outputs to connect to LEDs, or am I wrong here? Can the diff mode number be transmitted by CAN to the M800, then up to the AIM dash, for example?

Thanks,

Robbie

yes, it can be sent to AIM dash. Also sometimes I'm using simple display with digits to show which map is selected, it works very well with basic motorcycle gear indicators which are cheap and easy to get.

Thanks for the response. The car has the original MXL Aim dash, can I use one of the user configurable CAN channels for diff position then?
