MDC mode changed after powerup

On some evo9 cars last mode is somehow memorized and restored during powerup. On some other evo9 cars it will always be set to mode 0 after reset. Latest firmware is downloaded on all cars. Second case is annoying and even dangerous.

Where is the catch?

If you change the mode and wait for at least 1 minute the mode should be stored so that when you power up the car it is in the same mode. Is the car being turned off in less than a minute since changing the mode?
