rx7 s5 start tune

Postby beefcake on Sat May 09, 2009 12:27 pm

its a tough one but if your close enough it would be nice :D
13bT half bridgeport ive got M2R and motec cdi and merc coils, 4x1600 blue tops, 3 bar map, and your bosch/delco coolant and air temps,
the 4 injects are sitting in a efi hardware ida throttlebody too.
my car runs and starts but its running super fucking fat, i cant even give it throttle  so im really just chasing a better fuel map for now as ive got the rest sorted out good enough

ohh yeh i forgot to mention the reason im asking as i ordered through my dealer a m2r too suit s5 turbo, i got a s4 N/A setup and RX8 setup in my unit to start with, and i don't think the timing maps would be suitable for my big boosted combo  , and the fuel maps would be way off to start with as well, its no biggey but if i can get a leg in the door a bit easier before hitting the dyno it would be great 8-)
thanks heaps in advance guys :)

You will have fun getting a nice idle on that throttle body with 1600cc injectors and no idle speed valve. I struggle to keep a stock 20B with factory injectors and multithrottle manifold steady at 1200rpm. It takes some time to get it nice but its very sensitive to small adjustments etc. You really need a wideband otherwise your flying blind, I also find an egt helps with seeing whats going on with ignition timing. I am running one wideband and one egt per rotor which helps with trimming each rotor mixture, expensive but great to see whats really going on in the engine ! Just be careful of how much fuel your dumping in there as rotor plugs foul at the drop of a hat.

so much has happened in a year, sorry i missed this post, the car is running 100% perfect, the wideband is functioning, the idle is like a stocker, even for a bridgeport  , i raced it last weekend for the first time and it could not have been any better for a first time out 8-)
Thank fuck i chose motec , as its funny listening to the other competitors at the track with there ghost tune problems
Everything is all roses now
