Creating .ld log files on my own personal HW.

Hi,
First, I totally agree with Motec about not allowing other logger manufacturers to use i2 as their analysis tool.

But what about allowing creating .ld files for non-Motec hardware coupled to Motec products???
I own a M800 and as an electronics engineer, I want to create an additional module with logging capabilities. It needs to be connected to the M800 to drive its traction control function. It is not to create commercial products, but only as a hobby. It is ok to sign any Non Disclosure Agreement, and/or pay a small subscription.

Thanks

Angelo

There is a new S/W product out (or so I hear), that allows non Motec generated data files to be converted to be i2 compatible. I forgot the cost - but it was not cheap.
That would be the most straight forward way, other than getting a used ADL.

Basically, what you are asking for makes sense, but we tried it and it just doesn't work. We cant just rely on the honesty of others to always do the right thing.

The New MoTeC Application Programmers interface is a method, where you can purchase a licence (which essentialy is a licence to use i2 without MoTeC hardware) to, amongst other things, read in data from other applications, and generate ld files from non motec hardware.

This feature is currently in Beta being tested, and should be out in the next few weeks.

Your MoTeC Dealer should have details once we release the software fully.

Jamie,
Thanks for the answer. I understand your position. I will implement CAN in my hardware, and send data which need to be logged to M800.
